Enjoy the wonderful story, fave lines, AND the fun fact tidbit…

Nona Raines with Read to Me, an erotic romance novella

A shared love of erotica leads to one passionate night. Can it also lead to love?

Fun fact: I got the idea for how the characters first meet from an incident I witnessed years ago while riding the bus. A lady passenger accidentally sat on a strange man’s lap! My little writer’s brain saved that up to use someday in a story.

A few favorite lines from the book:

Had this man actually asked to read erotica with her? Yes.

And was she going to agree? Yes!

Elvis Presley – Ramblings from a Lifelong Fan, Part 1

Elvis Presley has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have always loved him—I don’t even recall the first time I discovered him. It just seems as though he was always there. My sister, Ruth, however, does remember when she discovered him, and I’m a little jealous of that memory, since I don’t have my own. (Nor do I remember the incident, so I’m telling her version, which is very short :)). She was five and I was seven (but, it’s really odd how, all these years later, she’s somehow older than me…hmmm…) 😉 Anyway, I digress. She said that I called her into the living room where Elvis’s movie, Harum Scarum, was playing (on our black and white television. This was around 1967, but we didn’t yet have a color tv), and I pointed Elvis out to her and said, “Look, isn’t he cute?” From then on, she and I grew up sharing our devotion to Elvis.

elvis-presley1

I can’t explain exactly how I feel about Elvis; only another true fan really ‘gets’ it. But, he was more than just an entertainer. He had this special, magical quality that I can’t name, but I know exists. Otherwise, why would millions of people all over the world love him so much? Why would they—nearly 37 years after his death—travel thousands of miles just to see his home? (And, they still do, daily in droves of thousands, from places as far as Australia, Ireland, England, etc.) Because, he touched people in a way no other entertainer has before or ever will again. Even if you are not an Elvis fan, you can’t deny the impact he had on the world. Yes, there are other successful, talented, well-loved performers. But, seriously, another Elvis? I don’t think so.

Although I have never wavered in my love for Elvis, I’ve recently gained a new appreciation of him now that I listen to Elvis radio on Sirius XM. It’s so awesome that they have an entire channel devoted to him. Nothing but Elvis, 24/7. And, that is all I ever listen to. Seriously, all the time, Elvis Radio. Not only do they play a ton of his great music, including rare recordings, but they have guests who knew the real Elvis. They share their memories of him, and hearing the intimate details of his life makes him all the more special.

Because of my adoration of Elvis, I have mentioned him in almost all of my published works. Here’s a little sample from “Poetic Injustice” a Romantic Suspense Novella (one of my older titles published through The Wild Rose Press) CLICK ON THE COVER FOR MORE INFORMATION

6. Poetic Injustice 6.7.11

Snippet:

Samantha put in an Elvis CD and cracked the window just a bit. She loved the fresh smell of rain, and a little moisture wouldn’t hurt anything.

Love Coming Down, one of Elvis’ more obscure releases from the 70’s, was playing. The damp evening air and Elvis’ powerful voice filled the car, surrounding her, calming her. She released a breath and, along with it, some of the tension of the past few weeks.

Do you have any special moments to share about Elvis, or any other entertainer?

I am proud to share some of the latest releases from The Wild Rose Press… Please check out the books and follow these authors on Twitter and Facebook, etc.

Enjoy the wonderful stories, fave lines, AND the fun fact tidbits…

Annette Miller, with Night Angel, a paranormal novella

True love does conquer all.

Fun Fact:  As a superhero fan, I always loved the fact that the heroes would win. The battles were always epic. Then I got to thinking. Heroes need love too. And the idea was born. I love romance and heroes. It just seemed natural to put them together.

A few lines from the story…

But didn’t this kind of stuff always happen in fairy tales? The path to true love was always filled with obstacles. Yes, she thought. But why does my path have major construction signs?

Melissa Snark with The Mating Game, Erotic Paranormal Novel

Two males…two friends…a competition for the right to claim The Heart of the Iron Stone Pack

Fun Fact:  My hero, Zachary Hunter, is an author of suspense thrillers. Throughout the story, he comically falls prey to many of the foibles of writers everywhere: writer’s block, procrastination, not accepting criticism well, editor issues, people having issues about how his characters should act, and being tuned out to important real life developments because he’s “in the zone”. Most of the jokes are private and I may be the only one who actually think they are funny.

A few lines from the story:

“Oh, Zach.” Theresa sighed into the phone. The sound of her weight shifting atop fabric reached his ears. “What am I going to do with you?”

“I could offer all manner of suggestions.” Zach’s mouth went dry, and his voice had acquired a sultry tone, deliberately suggestive, a hint of the lewd.

Blurb:

When I was seventeen, I had the perfect boyfriend. Nothing fancy, he went straight to my hips. He looked good on me. Now I’m home for our thirtieth class reunion, and I’m still hungry for him. Yes, it’s been decades, but every five years our high school reunion has brought us together again. With hot, then cold results. He’s on the menu again, and this time I have my own delicious way of making sure our meet-up will truly satisfy.

Excerpt:

Life is like a menu. You’ve got to make choices or you’ll either stuff or starve. I was never talented at the selection process. Clothes, lovers, hairstyles, jobs, real estate, BFFs, food: I’ve always made wildly random or slightly psychotic decisions. A few times in my life, however, I’ve bull’s-eyed. My high school boyfriend, for example, was perfectly on target.

Nothing fancy, he went straight to my hips. Plus, he liked me as a person. He looked good on me. Now, if that’s not the perfect man menu, I don’t know what would be.

He was all mine early on and he should have stayed that way. I thought he would. When we were seventeen, we were a power couple. I loved us.

We worked after school and on weekends at the local pancake house. I was Harried Young Waitress Over Easy. He was Cute Boy Under Glass. You could see him back there at the grill in his funny toque as soon as you walked in the front door.

Actually, another early flame of mine worked at Pancake King, too. The two guys were neighbors and best friends, but that didn’t stop me from necking with both of them. When I call it necking, you imagine fully clothed couples in dark corners, right? Choice of words is important here. I want you to like me.

Yes, I was a little loosey goosey. But really, my high school boyfriend was the long-range guy for me. Only I didn’t know it then. I was a dozen lovers away from realizing there’s one man for every woman. Like the ideal pairing: Bordeaux and Stilton cheese, Irish potatoes and freshly grated black pepper, Louisiana shrimp and minced garlic. These are the kind of tastes one develops with time and experience. As kids, our choices seemed unlimited, like you can have yourself one or both. Even more, if you want. It seems like you can have yourself everything on the menu.

Mickey_J._Corrigan

Originally from Boston, Mickey J. Corrigan lives and writes and gets into trouble in South Florida, where the men run guns and the women run after them. The tropics provide a lush, steamy setting for hot romance and Florida pulp.

Mickey has published fiction in literary journals and online magazines. Novellas include Dream Job, a cyber romance which has been compared to Twilight Zone and The Matrix; Professional Grievers, a romantic comedy set among funeral and wakes; Me Go Mango, a girls’ reunion gone wild; and Geekus Interruptus, the story of a not-so-bright woman who falls in love with a nerd. Sugar Babies is a novel about the soft prostitution industry. A thriller, the story follows three young women trying to pull themselves out of debt via arranged relationships with wealthy older men.

The Wild Rose Press is publishing Mickey’s new series, The Hard Stuff. Each novella in the series focuses on a tough woman in a tough situation who falls for a man—and not the best man in her current circumstances.

Mickey’s romances are not normal love stories. Her stories are gritty, wild and dark, but often darkly funny. The protagonists are kickass women. They have spunk and sass. Their romantic involvements are unusual. These are not nice girls pursued by men with bouquets of roses and bottles of champagne. Love comes hard, but it is oh so real.

Be sure to check out the other books in The Hard Stuff series. With these covers and titles like this, how can you resist?

Hello and welcome to my version of the game, ‘F*@#’, Marry, Kill. This week we are WWW’ing hosts from late night talk shows.

Myself and some of my friends are sharing our Want, Wed, and Waste choices from this week’s list:

Jimmy Kimmell, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Myers

JK Late Night With Jimmy Fallon - Season 4 Seth_Meyers_2

Click on book titles below to learn more and to be taken to a buy link

******************************

Me (Alicia Dean). Author of DEATH NOTICE – A killer is using her obituary column to forecast his kills.  – LAST DAY of 99¢ SALE!

Want: Seth Myers. He is adorable!!! I haven’t watched him do late night talk show hosting, but I adored him on Weekend Update on SNL.

Wed: Jimmy Fallon. Also adorable, and I ‘want’ him too, but if I ‘wed’ him then I could hang out with him a lot, and his BFF is Justin Timberlake. Talk about a WIN-WIN!

Waste: Jimmy Kimmell. Don’t watch him, don’t have a reason NOT to waste him.

******************************

Sexy, French corporate raider meets idealistic philanthropist–true love or lust in passing? The French Resolution is now available at amazon  Nora Snowdon  is the Writer of Elegant Smut. Read more about her at www.norasnowdon.com

Want  seth myers – he seems young and energetic, just what the doctor ordered

Wed  jimmy fallon – he knocks my socks off (and could remove other articles of clothing any time he wants) with his humour and musical ability.

Waste  jimmy kimmell – I still can’t forget his horrendously misogynistic “man show.”   although if he asked me on his current show, I promise I won’t really waste him. I need the bucks.  😉

******************************

Linda McLaughin, w/a Lyn O’Farrell, author of Worth The Risk, contemporary romance.  Website: http://www.lindamclaughlin.com

Want: This was tough because I like both Jimmy’s, but I want Jimmy Fallon. He’s cute, with a great sense of humor, and I think he’d be a lot of fun to hang out with. And he even has his own Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream flavor. I loved the feud he had going with Stephen Colbert and the competition of who had the best ice cream flavor.

Wed: Seth Myers, because he’s really smart and funny and has the most adorable, shy (or is that sly) smile. I could wake up to that smile every day, no problem.

Waste: I hate to do this, because I have no reason not to like Jimmy Kimmel, but someone has to be wasted. 😦

******************************

Juli D. Revezzo, author of Passion’s Sacred Dance  He may be her savior in disguise, but can she trust him? ON SALE until May 9th at Amazon, The Wild Rose Press, and All-Romance Ebooks – Website: http://julidrevezzo.com/

Wed: JK at least is a Stevie Nicks fan like me, so definitely a keeper. 🙂

Waste:  Seth Myers, because somehow, I found him annoying.

Can I say Semi-want: Jimmy Fallon? He seems like a nice guy.

******************************

Now we’d like to hear from you….which of these Late Night Hosts would you Want, Wed, and Waste?

Thanks for playing!

ROCK ME, GENTLY ~ COMING MAY 1ST!

To enter to win a free e-copy go to http://www.mjschillerauthor.blogspot.com! Drawing on Saturday, May 3rd.

Excerpt:

Josh steered Cassie toward an exit, hoping fresh air would help to sober her up. They ended up at the outdoor pool, a monstrosity complete with overhanging palm trees. Not a soul was in sight, unusual, even at this time of night.

Away from the casino hubbub, it was easier to talk. She eyed him. “Tell me about the band.”

“What do you want to know?”

“Well, as an advertising person, I’m interested in the gimmick, Money Back Guaranteed. Did you ever have to back up that promise?”

Josh took a couple of seconds to think about that. “Yeah. A few times. Once, when an elderly couple came with their granddaughter. They didn’t like the show at all.” Remembering their reaction, he grimaced. “And once, when a girl caught her fiancé in the hall with another girl. Hardly our fault, but, she didn’t enjoy the concert, and that’s our promise, so…” He shrugged.

“Interesting. Interesting.” She lifted a leg, grabbing his shoulder for balance, and tugged on the heel of her boot.

“Uhh…what are you doing?”

“My feet are killing me. You’re so lucky you are a guy and don’t have to wear heels.”

“Yes. I was just mentioning that to my friend, Ryan, the other day.”

She didn’t look up. Having successfully removed one boot, she switched legs to work on the other. “Really?”

He smiled. “No. Go on.”

Yanking the other boot off, she nearly toppled over, though still holding on to him. She squeezed his arm. “You’re built.”

He nearly laughed at her frank statement. “Thank you.”

Holding her boots in one hand, her brow furrowed as she concentrated on her next question. She began to balance on the edge of the pool, which was deserted, and scoop stepped, trailing one leg in the water, not seeming to mind at all that her jeans were getting wet.

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea,” he warned, taking her arm to steady her.

“I’m fine,” she assured him, breaking away for an instant to do a pirouette in the pool’s gutter to demonstrate.

“Okay, okay,” he muttered, grabbing her arm again. “No need to show off. So why are you in the advertising game?”

“I like the creative aspect of it. And, I can be very persuasive,” she said, smiling at him. As if he somehow silently challenged her, she stopped with a jerk and turned toward him, lifting up on her toes to kiss him. The taste of her was just as intoxicating as the booze had been, and left him equally dizzy. The flavor of sweet lime and midnight rolled across his tongue and sank into him unbidden. Someone in the hotel rooms surrounding the pool above them slammed a door, startling Cassie, the sharp sound almost like gunfire. She jumped away from him like she had been shot herself and started to lose her balance. He reached to save her, but too late, she fell into the pool, dragging him in after her.

MJ is a lunch lady in the heart of Central Illinois. My gosh, can you get more folksy than that? She met her husband at the University of Missouri-Columbia and now she has an nineteen-year-old (how did that happen?) and seventeen year old triplets! She loves to read, karaoke (where she can pretend she is a rock star) and spends WAY too much time on Facebook. She grew up in St. Louis and still has family there.

Savage Deception by R.T. Wolfe – and a $100 Gift Card Giveaway!!!

I am happy to share my review of Savage Deception by R.T. Wolfe. R.T. is a wonderful friend and a fantastic author. PLUS, you get a chance to win a $100 gift card!!! (See the entry link at the bottom of the post)

9781614175124
Blurb:
Busy juggling loan sharks and Amber Alerts, Detective Nickie Savage makes time when the FBI seeks her expertise with a child trafficking ring. But when Nickie discovers that the men running the ring are the same ones who abducted her as a young teen, the case gets personal. I should also state that short-term loans like the ones found at låna-pengar.biz/snabblan are their short period. Considering that these quick loans are accepted to you against your salary, you are expected to pay them off with the next wage cheque. Therefore, the loan period is between one and two weeks.
Risking her badge, Nickie goes rogue. Luckily, she has Duncan Reed, along with his wire tapping and surveillance expertise. But Duncan also wants to take their relationship to the next level.

Now, Nickie must choose: break her own rules and risk her heart or forge ahead alone.
My Five Star Review of Savage Deception:
Nikki Savage is one of those characters who are so interesting and likable, that you want to keep reading about them. She’s tough, yet has a sensitive side, and she has a very strong moral compass, but she will do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. I am so glad R.T. Wolfe his continuing the story of Nikki and Duncan. Like the others, Savage Deception is an edge of your seat, suspenseful, well-written, novel.

R.T. Wolfe Bio:

R.T. Wolfe enjoys creating diverse characters and twining them together in the midst of an intelligent mystery and a heart encompassing romance. It’s not uncommon to find dark chocolate squares in R.T.’s candy dish, her Golden Retriever at her feet and a few caterpillars spinning their cocoons in their terrariums on her counters. R.T. loves her family, gardening, eagle-watching and can occasionally be found viewing a flyover of migrating whooping cranes.

Pass the Baton Blog Hop

My friend, fellow author, Silver James, invited me to participate in the Pass the Baton Blog Hop. Silver is a gifted author who writes in the paranormal and contemporary romance genres, among others. Silver was just recently contracted by Harlequin Desire…how awesome is that??? You can learn more about Silver here: http://silverjames.com/

And, guess what???? Silver just became a grandmother for the first time. Her beautiful grandson, Liam, was born March 23…congrats to Silver and her daughter, Clary. (Who is also my cover artist. Hope childbirth doesn’t interfere with the progress of my latest cover… Just kidding! 😉 Sort of.)

I was asked to answer questions about my latest Work in Process. (I actually had a bit of a crisis related to this MS. Many of you have heard my story of woe, but I’m telling it again. My flash drive became corrupted, and I lost several documents, including this one with all of the work I’d done on it since I picked it back up a few weeks ago, after putting it aside about four years ago. I have a team of geeks trying to recover the lost docs, but we’re not sure this will be one they can recover…fingers crossed!)

Anyway, enough whining and back to the post. The questions I was asked to answer are…

What am I working on?

A suspense/thriller novel titled Without Mercy. Here is a rough blurb:

A normal work day for bank employee and single mom, Chyna Beckett, turns into tragedy when the bank is robbed and her boss is murdered in front of her. But the horror doesn’t end there. Chyna discovers that, what appeared to be a random robbery is actually much more. The criminals targeted that specific bank for one reason—because of Chyna.

She is soon launched into a nightmare where mercenaries hold her and her daughter hostage in their normal lives. Each time Chyna makes a wrong move, someone dies. As Chyna fights to protect her daughter, pieces of the puzzle start to click into place. She learns the takeover is connected to her daughters’ father, Aidan. But how is that possible? Aidan died in the jungle before Emma was born.

As the lives of the people Chyna loves are jeopardized, she realizes she must take action. But she has no idea where to turn–and time is running out. But then, a startling truth is revealed, and Chyna realizes that the only person who can help her and her child might be a ghost from the past.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Because it’s mine, my voice, my creation. It’s also different in that, while it has a pretty strong romantic storyline, that doesn’t come into play until the book is more than half over. That makes the lines between straight suspense and romantic suspense a little blurred, but I had to relay the story as it came to me. So, it is what it is, whatever that might be.

Why do I write what I do?
Because I have to. Whenever a story starts to pull at me, I have no choice but to write it. I think that paranormal and suspense stories pull at me most often, because those are the kind that interest me. I try to write what I would love to read. (I think that’s a pretty standard response from most authors)

How does your writing process work?
Ha! It doesn’t! Uhm, okay, seriously, I suppose it starts with an idea. I’m not one of those character-driven writers who has characters come visit them, then they create a story for that character. Once an idea comes to me, I consider who would be the most interesting people to put in that situation, who would be the worst person for something like this to happen to. Then, I get to know that character, I outline the story, I make a list of scene notes, I write really, really crappy drafts of those scenes, then I go back through and fix them. I make as many passes through the story as I need to in order to be satisfied. During one of those passes, my critique partners help me out. I would keep revising over and over, so at some point, I have to just decide the story is complete and let it go. (And never, EVER, read it again!)

Two lovely ladies were kind enough to allow me to pass the baton to them, and their blogs will be up next Monday, March 31st. Here is a little about them…

Marilyn Baron is so prolific, it makes me ill…not really, I’m happy for her, but completely jealous of how quickly she churns out books. And, they’re really good ones too! I’m currently reading Sixth Sense, which is a page turner. But, I have several other of her books in my TBR pile, because she writes about topics I find fascinating. I was fortunate enough to meet Marilyn in person last July at the RWA conference in Atlanta. She’s terrific!

Mini bio: Marilyn Baron, a public relations consultant in Atlanta, writes humorous women’s fiction, romantic thrillers/suspense, historicals and paranormal for The Wild Rose Press and has won writing awards in Single Title, Suspense Romance and Paranormal/Fantasy Romance.

Check out Marilyn’s novel by clicking on the title: Under the Moon Gate

Marilyn’s Baton Post next week will be featured on The Beach Read Authors blog: http://beachreadauthors.blogspot.com/

Marilyn’s Web site: http://www.marilynbaron.com/

My other baton author is Monique DeVere. Although I have never met Monique face to face (she’s in the U.K. for cripe’s sake!), I love, love, love her. She is a fantastic writer and such a wonderful friend. She is always there to lend a helping hand—she volunteered to help me moderate our author promo loop, Authors Helping Authors, (along with the lovely R.T. Wolfe), and she critiqued/edited my short story, End of Lonely Street in a mere 24 hour period, and she did an awesome job. Oh, yeah, and she’s a fantastic writer! She writes stories with strong passion and emotion, along with a twist of humor. My favorite of her stories so far is Zach’s Rebound Girl. LOVE it!!!

Mini bio: Monique DeVere is an author of smexy romantic comedy and Christian supernatural fiction. She is also a screenwriter and is currently working on her latest script. Monique resides in the UK.

Wednesday’s (Thursday’s) Want, Wed, Waste: Supernatural TV Hunks

Hello and welcome to my version of the game, ‘F*@#’, Marry, Kill. This week we are WWW’ing the hot guys from CW’s Supernatural.

Myself and some of my friends are sharing our Want, Wed, and Waste choices from this week’s list:

Misha Collins as Castiel – Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester – Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester

Castiel-supernatural-11437943-1600-1000 sam Dean

Click on book titles below to learn more and to be taken to a buy link

Me (Alicia Dean). Author of DEATH NOTICE (Northland Crime Chronicles, Book 1)  – A killer has something to say, and he’s using her obituary column to get his point across…

(I don’t watch this show, so I’m going to go by my impressions)

Want: Jensen Ackles -He’s a hottie, for sure, but he seems to have an attitude that would be hard to take on a regular basis. (The actor, not the character). I’m not sure why I get that vibe, but I do. So, I would have to ‘want’ him then toss him.

Wed: Misha Collins – There’s something very sexy about him. I’m really drawn to him even though I’ve never seen him in action. And, come on, how cool would it be to marry an angel? .

Waste: Jared whats-his-name – You are outta here! Something about him rubs me the wrong way. He’s not as hot as everyone lets on and I don’t like his stringy hair, especially when it’s down in his face. How many enemies did I just make? 🙂

M.J. Schiller, author of THE HEART TEACHES BEST Murder may be her final lesson. Website: www.mjschillerauthor.blogspot.com

M.J. is offering a free ebook of The Heart Teaches Best to one lucky commenter!

Want: All of them! But if I have to pick, Sam (Jared Padalecki). “Moose,” as they call him on the show, is one good-looking guy! Tall, and all that hair! But as for marrying, I know he kills a lot of bad guys on the show, but I still think he’s too much of a softy for me.

Wed: Dean (Jensen Ackles). Now I’m not usually into pretty boys. I tend to like guys who are sexy, but not picture-perfect. Dean is the exception, and man what an exception! The man positively makes me drool! Then add his personality to the mix, hot and funny. Yes, sir! I’ll take that! He could protect me from any sort of supernatural creature, he has a nice ride, and we’d laugh for hours on end…when we weren’t doing other things. Yes, Mrs. Ackles has a nice ring to it…if only there wasn’t one already…

Waste: Castiel. Did you really just make me kill an angel, Alicia Dean? Although I thoroughly enjoy watching him on the show, I’m not really turned on by him. Sorry. And being an angel, he may not get me. Yep, give me, Dean.  …NOW please!

Me (Alicia Dean). Author of Valentine romance short story, Cupid’s Beau – What happens when a Cupid falls for her target? (ON SALE for only 99¢)

Want: Matthew McConaughey, I LOVED How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, and MM is very hot, but he acts a little ‘off’ sometimes, so I would just want him on a temporary basis. But many times. 🙂

Wed: Patrick Dempsey. I adore Patrick Dempsey. There’s something about him that really appeals to me. I would Wed him so I could Want him often. And if you haven’t seen Made of Honor, you’re missing out. It is such a cute, fun, sexy movie. Definitely a good choice for Valentine’s Day (or any day). He also seems like a good husband, so Wedding him is a win-win.

Waste: Tom Hanks. I like him and respect him, and Sleepless in Seattle was a good movie. He and Meg had good chemistry, but he’s the least appealing of the two. Everyone loves Tom Hanks, so if I actually wasted him, I’m sure a lot of people would be angry with me, so I won’t. But he’s in my Waste category by default.

Marie Tuhart, author of More Than One Night – Escape to an Erotic Fantasy, Website: http://www.marietuhart.com

Want – Matthew McConaughey – because he’s the ultimate bad boy and so darn cute.  I can just cuddle up with him and have all sorts of fun.

Wed – Tom Hanks – because he’s the man you bring home to meet the parents.  He’s funny, sensitive and faithful.  And not bad to look at.

Waste: Patrick Dempsey – there is just something about him that turns me off.  I’m not sure what it is, but he’s not my type of guy.

Want: How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days is my absolute favorite Romantic Comedy. Just typing this out makes me want to drop everything and go put the dvd in. Yum, yum, yum. Plus, Mr. McConaughey is not only a Texas, but hell, was he ripped in Magic Mike. Yeah, I’ll let Matt do me!

Wed: The only part of Sleepless in Seattle that I really loved was when Rosie and Meg were watching An Affair to Remember with Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant (the sexiest man of all time). But who wouldn’t wed a lovable Tom Hanks? Not me. I’ll take him.

Waste: This is ridiculous. There is no possible way to waste Patrick Dempsey. The man pulled a victim out of a burning car for God’s sake! No. I’ll just have to want <i>and</> wed him too. I’m BREAKING the rules.

Diane Burton, author of ONE RED SHOE – Wannabe writer rescues wounded spy while risking her heart.  Website:  www.dianeburton.com

Want: Patrick Dempsey. Patrick is hot! What my mom would’ve called a dreamboat. Didn’t see him in Made of Honor; loved him in Enchanted.

Wed: Tom Hanks. No question. I watch Sleepless in Seattle every time it’s on and get all choked up every time. Even better in You Got Mail. In real life, he seems very devoted to his wife Rita. Gotta love that.

Do I have to waste one? Then I guess it has to be Matthew McConaughey.  I didn’t see him in How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, but I loved him in Failure to Launch.

Want: Gotta go with Matthew McConaughey. He hasn’t aged all that well, but I’m not exactly a beauty contest winner, either, so I’m not gonna be picky. He still has a certain charm.

Wed: Patrick Dempsey! He has that wholesome, boy next store, killer smile thing going for him and he just seems like a nice guy.

Waste: Wait. Wait just one minute here. I can’t waste Tom Hanks! He’s too awesome and cool. Huh. McConaughey has to go. Waste McConaughey, Wed Hanks and Want Dempsey. Sorry, Matthew. I guess that whole poor aging thing meant more to me than I thought. And you never did “Big” or “Sleepless in Seatle” or “Castaway”…and you’re not the voice of Woody. Ba-bye.
