My author friend, Leah St. James, and Surrender to Sanctuary….

I’m happy to share one of my favorite romanic suspense novels. Surrender to Sanctuary is an excellent story, rife with danger, emotion, passion, and twists.

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO?

A young woman is brutally murdered, her body dropped into the sea and carried by the tides onto the beach at a federal park at the Jersey Shore.  Hometown investigators believe the woman simply partied too hard and fell overboard, but FBI Agents David Owens and Anna Parker know better.

David and Anna quickly trace the victim’s path from a local adult BDSM club to a dangerous and shadowed world that caters to those who practice a lifestyle of domination and submission, and not just for fun and games.

To find the truth and stop a madman before he can kill again, they will need to break all the rules. They will need to pose as Master, and as slave. And despite their growing attraction and possibly love for each other, they’ll need to give the performances of their lives—because discovery means certain death.

Available in ebook from:

Amazon and Barnes & Noble

SURRENDER TO SANCTUARY is the first of three stories that takes a look at a controversial ancient lifestyle and the people who practice it—people who’ll do anything to protect its future. Look for the second book, ESCAPE TO SANCTUARY, in late 2013.

About Leah St. James:

Leah is a worrier, a self-described neurotic who tends to imagine the worst-case scenario in response to brewing troubles. She hasn’t decided if this leaning toward the dark side is what draws her to write edgy, gritty stories, or if the suspenseful mysteries and Gothic romances that filled her childhood bookshelves somehow imprinted their shadows on her psyche.  Despite (or maybe because of) this propensity for infusing her fiction with murder and mayhem, she still craves those happily-ever-after endings and the romance of everlasting love.

Fangirl’s Dream…New Release by Fierce Dolan

From Decadent Publishing…Now Available:

FanGirlsDream200

Blurb

Siler Dunham would do anything to have Farraj Reza, hero of the smash network TV drama, Endangered. Every week she tunes in to watch him calculate the rescue of fellow bus crash survivors trapped deep in the jungle by a ruthless drug lord. A federal public defender with a penchant for saving the unsavable, she can’t resist his sad story, or his badass charm. When she seeks a matchmaking service to meet him, their one night stand isn’t what she expected. Forced to choose between unbridled lust and compassion, Siler must forgo her fantasy… or mustn’t she?

Excerpt

His lashes fluttered, then his eyes widened. The gun didn’t waver. “Who are you? Where did you come from?”

“I’m here for you, Farraj, or whatever your name is. I came to meet you. You know—”

He pressed the gun into her neck. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Hawa’a. That’s it right, what I’m supposed to say—some kind of watch word?”

Jaw clenched, his cheek twitched and she imagined feeling it under her lips. “Who told you that word?”

Balancing on her knees with her arms raised in surrender, she toppled onto her bottom. Grit clung to the back of her legs. Something’s not right. “Madame Eve, the woman who arranged our meeting. She told me to say Hawa’a, first thing.”

As much as her restricted movement allowed, she looked around. Tiny beach. Palm trees. Crystal clear water. The cove….

Annoyed, Siler nudged the gun back with her elbow and stood, brushing sand from her bottom and smoothing her wilting skirt. Sweat beaded her brow, and her carefully disheveled tresses cascaded in limp curls over her shoulders.

“What is this?” Knuckles bracing her hips, she glared down the lowered barrel. “This is not what I asked for. What the fuck? Is this some kind of joke?”

Disappointment rolled in her stomach and tears stung her eyes. I’m such an idiot. “You know what? Let’s just forget this whole ‘one-night’ thing, and I’ll go home.” Palms up, she took a step to one side then the other. The only evident path lay behind him. She would have to pass him, and the shotgun.

About Fierce

Erotic mezzofiction writer, Fierce is imagination shapeshifted as a scribe taunting blank pages and carpal tunnel, neither of which are much use for deadlines. Close allies are impeccable timing and a trusty masseuse. Being a switch I/ENFP doesn’t hurt. For kicks Fierce has other personas across several genres, tends to fill in “Other” on surveys without explaining, and chooses the finality of the Japanese Tamagotchi.

Weekend Warrior – 8 Sentences of Liberty Divided

The Weekend Writing Warriors blog hop is a weekly event in which writers are invited to share eight sentences from one of their works and invite comments.

Check out the other Weekend Writer 8 Sentence Blasts here: http://www.wewriwa.com/

I have chosen to share eight sentences of my latest Work in Progress, Liberty Divided, Isle of Fangs Book 2:

Liberty turned a glare on him. He stood directly behind her, hands shoved in his pockets, yet he’d been chilling in the bar only seconds ago.

“How the hell…?” She shook her head. “Never mind, you’re a vampire. You move with the speed of light.”

He grinned and slanted his upper body toward her. “Yeah, but we’ve got all that darkness brewing inside–ironic, isn’t it?”

I am hoping Liberty Divided will be available by the end of this month. In the meantime, here is my lovely cover:

Check out Liberty Awakened, Isle of Fangs Book 1 available on the Kindle at:  Liberty Awakened on Amazon

Meet my Sci-Fi Author Friend, Diane Burton…

Well, she’s not ONLY Sci-Fi. (Although I love her sci-fi books, even though that’s not my favorite genre) I had the pleasure of reading and contracting one of her suspense books, One Red Shoe, for The Wild Rose Press. And it is fabulous! The release date for One Red Shoe is January 10, 2014. Hopefully, Diane will join me on my blog again at that time. Well, enough about that. Meet Diane…

DianeBurton

I’m Diane Burton and I’m a compulsive writer. My imagination has been working overtime since I was a kid. When I write, I can be anyone I want. I can be a petite, red-headed starship pilot who knows what she wants and goes after it (like Celara in The Pilot) or a tall, overweight repairperson who wisecracks her way out of scary situations (like Jessie in Switched and Switched Resolution) or a straight-laced starship mechanic who’s discovered she’s not an alien (like Veronese in Switched, Too and Switched Resolution). I can even be a schoolteacher (I was one, actually) facing the Big 3-0 and determined to have an adventure (like Daria in One Red Shoe). In my imagination, I can soar through outer space, visit alien planets, pilot a starship, and rescue a wounded spy from the ladies’ restroom in New York City. And if I could live in any time period, it would be when space travel is as common place as air travel.

switched-resolution

Although I’ve lived in Missouri and Illinois, I’m such a dyed-in-the-wool Michigander that when asked where I live, I hold up my hand as if it’s a map and point. I love the Great Lakes and will soon be living close to Lake Michigan and my favorite sports team is the Detroit Tigers. I have two great kids who’ve grown into adults I’m so proud of. My daughter’s two children always make me smile when they come running and yelling “Nana! Papa!” My granddaughter has a super imagination. We write stories together—she tells me what to write then she illustrates. At almost six, she’s a budding novelist. (I’m not prejudiced or anything). At three and a half, my grandson has two speeds—fast and faster. He has a wicked grin that reminds me of his uncle (my son) and my husband.

I’ve been writing for over twenty years. In the past two, I’ve been having the time of my life. The best part about being a writer right now is getting my books to readers has become easier through self-publishing. Of course, having a freelance editor and cover artist who are friends really helps. The support of my RWA chapter (Mid-Michigan), friends, and readers make this journey so rewarding. My biggest supporter, though, is the fantastic guy I married forty years ago. We remain such good friends that we can spend four days in a car out to Arizona and another four days back and still talk to each other. Although he doesn’t usually read novels, he reads mine and he’s always willing to brainstorm plot lines.

the-Pilot-hi-rez-BN

I started writing the Switched series nearly fifteen years ago. It didn’t start as a series—just one stand-alone book, Switched—about twins separated before birth then raised on different planets. Readers clamored for the secondary characters’ story, which brought about Switched, Too. Published this May, Switched Resolution brings all the characters together to save one of them, a starship, and an alien world. While I was waiting for a publisher to recognize my brilliant writing (kidding), I wrote another science fiction romance set in another universe. The Pilot kicks off a new series about strong women on the frontier of space. I’m currently writing the next book in the Outer Rim series. It’s had three titles already. I think The Chameleon is the best title . . . so far. Meanwhile, as Alicia mentioned, a publisher has recognized my brilliant writing (only slightly kidding). The Wild Rose Press will release my romantic suspense, One Red Shoe, on January 10, 2014.
