Haley Parker lost her academic scholarship when she quit school to care for her dying mother. Now, eager to return to her studies, she must find the perfect job that will allow her the freedom to attend evening classes.

Her best friend Chloe teaches at one of Boston’s finest private schools, a job Haley had once hoped would be hers. When Chloe snags Haley a referral for a position as nanny to high-powered attorney, Eric Garrison’s, two young children, Haley looks forward to taking on the task.

Eric finds himself drawn to the intelligent and loving young woman who has bewitched his children. It’s not long before he’s re-thinking his plan to avoid romantic entanglements. On a family vacation to Paris, he finds it impossible to resist the lovely, yet innocent Haley.

Haley willingly gives up her innocence for a chance to make love with Eric, even though she realizes it will change their professional relationship forever.

Excerpt

“So, Miss Parker, what do you think of Paris?”

Haley rolled over in the big bed and wrapped her arms around Eric’s waist, drawing him closer. “I think the Eiffel Tower is compensating for something.”

“Perhaps, we could explore the possibility of what that might be. Comme vous le voulez.”

She relaxed back in Eric’s embrace and felt the wet press of his lips to hers, the scratchiness of his tongue… the…

She awoke with a start. Benji, the Garrison’s cat, sat squarely in the middle of her chest, his nose pressed against her cheek. Her heart pounded, the remnants of her dream coming back to her in embarrassing Technicolor. What in heaven’s name would have possessed her to dream about her employer in such an unusual and thoroughly inappropriate way?

Surely, she wasn’t attracted to the workaholic, albeit handsome, attorney. No, it must have been the few words of French he’d uttered at dinner prompting such a ridiculous dream. Haley mentally discarded any thought of herself and Eric Garrison.

She gave the cat a shove. “Get down, you pesky ball of fur.”

Benji jumped lazily to the floor, his loud hiss speaking volumes about his displeasure at being rousted from the bed.

About the Series

How does a lover of old-fashioned rock and roll and light-hearted, somewhat steamy, romance pay homage to such a wonderful time in musical history? By creating a 10-novella series based on number one song titles from each of the ten years, of course.

The series actually began as a single short story submitted for a contest through the publisher, The Wild Rose Press. Although my story didn’t win, I was asked to revise slightly (to eliminate the obvious contest linkage) and resubmit. The original story, Wake Up Little Susie, was a fun time travel about a young woman who accidentally stumbles into 1957 and keeps bumping into members of her family while falling in love with a younger version of her favorite college professor.

While doing some time period research for the book, I discovered a link to what music critics had dubbed “The Golden Decade” … and from there, an idea for an entire series was set free (or as free as anything can be in my overworked imagination).

For more information on the first half of the series (1955-1959), please visit my TWRP author page http://www.wildrosepublishing.com/maincatalog_v151/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=277

*** The first three novellas (Love Is a Many Splendored Thing, Love Me Tender and Wake Up Little Susie) are all priced at 99 cents, and the new release is half-price. The fourth story, April Love, will also be re-priced to 99 cents shortly. ***

Author Bio

Like most authors, Nancy Fraser began writing at an early age, usually on the walls and with crayons or, heaven forbid, permanent markers. Her love of writing often made her the English teacher’s pet, which, of course, resulted in a whole lot of teasing. Still, it was worth it.

When not writing (which is almost never), Nancy dotes on her five beautiful grandchildren and looks forward to traveling and reading when time permits. Nancy lives in Atlantic Canada where she enjoys the relaxed pace and colorful people. She invites you to visit her website, her blog, and follow her on Twitter. Or, more importantly, just enjoy what she writes.

Thanks, Margo and Susan. It’s my favorite era … at least to write about. I wouldn’t want to live it (again) … too few conveniences. The thing I like most about the series is that they read like throwback Harlequin’s, just a bit steamier.
