WANT: Kilmer as Doc. I was mesmerized by the way he played this part. I love a bad boy, and he was sexy and funny and tough and amazing.
WED: Russell as Wyatt. This is tough, because I like Costner better than Russell overall, but I didn’t see Wyatt Earp, and I did see Tombstone, and I LOVED this movie, loved Kurt Russell in is.
WASTE: Costner as Wyatt. Yikes…it’s like ripping out my own heart, vampire style, because I ADORE Costner. But, process of elimination, and I didn’t see him in the role, and someone’s gotta go…(rules are rules)…but I love you, Kevin!!! Please forgive me.

Want: Doc Holliday/Val Kilmer because he’s all dark, dangerous, intense…and intent. When I’m looking for a booty call, that works for me! A bad boy with sex appeal and no strings. (Though I really wish you’d offered up Virgil Earp in this version because…SAM ELLIOTT!)
Wed: Wyatt Earp/Kurt Russell because…dude! Kurt Russell! Oh, sorry. Wyatt Earp! But definitely Kurt’s version. Why? Because again, intense and focused. And loyal. He’s all about the family. If I’m going to wed someone, I want to know I can depend on him now and tomorrow and the day after. Besides, he looks awesome in a duster and that mustache. Just sayin’…
Waste: Wyatt Earp/Kevin Costner because I never could take Costner’s version seriously and I have to waste someone.

Want: Kevin Costner. I have loved this absolutely sexy man since the movie No Way Out! That seduction scene in the back of the limo was fantastic, and often used as inspiration for writing a lovescene … especially the humor of it. Plus, he gets professional acting chops points for holding his own against James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams! His Wyatt Earp was well done and sexy!
Wed: Kurt Russell, despite the fact the he and Goldie have never made it legally official, he’s definitely “home and hearth” material. Plus, in his prime he had an edgy way about him. Loved his somewhat scruffy Wyatt Earp.
Waste: Val Kilmer. I’ve not really got anything AGAINST Val, just nothing for him either. I do have to admit, I was shocked to learn he has a fantastic singing voice. Saw him in the off-Broadway production of The Ten Commandments a number of years ago and was blown away with his rich voice.

Wed: Since seeing his first kid roles in Disney movies, I’ve had a soft spot for Kurt Russell. In a western role, he makes my knees wobble.
Waste: If Kevin Costner would put in the time to learn the dialects of the roles he performs, he might be an actor I’d give more credibility.

Wed: Kurt Russell is the sweetest guy and pretty hot as Wyatt Earp. A little bit of Wild West with him and I’d be satisfied!!!
Waste: I’ll pass on Kevin Costner, though he’s cute and it’s a shame to turn him down but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do when it comes to running a guy out of a saloon packed with hotties?

I don’t think I’ve seen either movie, but I adore all three! I loved Kevin in Message in a Bottle and just about anything he’s been in. Absolutely loved him in Dancing With Wolves! Kurt…what can I say that hasn’t been said? Nothing. He’s just awesome! And Val-I’ve had a soft spot for him since he was in Top Gun and Real Genius. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089886/quotes

I love reading all of these author choices. Silver, I adore Sam Elliott, but didn’t see his version. Nancy, I am with you on Costner. That’s why it was so hard to waste him, but I had to do it in the context of the roles, and I didn’t see his Wyatt Earp movie, my bad. I loved No Way Out. Also loved 3000 Miles to Graceland, Field of Dreams, A Perfect World (OMG, so good, so sad), Mr. Brooks, Revenge (one of my favorites), I could go on and on, but won’t. Man, I feel really bad that I wasted him. 🙂 Linda, I also fell for Kurt watching Disney movies as a kid…love him still. Can’t agree with you on Costner, but we don’t have to agree on everything, right? 🙂 Yes, Christine, love Kilmer’s mischievous grin as Doc Holliday. You all did so well!

Alicia, Sam was in Kurt’s version. He played Virgil, Wyatt’s older brother. Love Kurt but man, Sam just makes me go all googly-woogly inside and out. *deep feminine sigh*

Y’all make me wish I’d seen the movies! I’m feeling kind of bad for poor Kevin Costner. You all were wasting him right and left! The only thing I’ve seen Kilmer in is Batman. I think the only movie I’ve seen Russell in is “Unlawful Entry” with Ray Liotta which was a frightening movie. Costner, who could resist “Dancing with Wolves?” And “The Bodyguard” with Whitney Houston? That’s one movie I can watch repeatedly! Love the game, Alicia1 🙂

Want – it’s a toss up between Kilmer and Costner but…I’m going with Costner. Because two Wyatts are better than one.
Wed – Only if he brings the thunder. Ha. And he has great hair. And a great voice.

I enjoyed both movies, but I honestly like Costner as Wyatt Earpp mainly because of the extra information at the beginning of the film. I loved Bill Paxton and Sam Elliott as Wyatt’s brother’s in Tombstone, and Michael Biehn as the lead Cowboy in Tombstone, as well as the fact that Mark Harmon played the sheriff. I enjoyed Dennis Quaid as Doc in Wyatt Earpp. Love Costner ever since Silverado, Field of Dreams and Bull Durham, but Kurt is great since Escape from NY. Val I liked in Thunderheart but have lost interest since he became a little too “relaxed” in his responsibilities to his acting career.

I really MUST see Wyatt Earp. I’m intrigued now. Good points about Kilmer. I was strictly going by their roles in those films, and I was unfair to Kevin since I didn’t see his. 🙂

Want Kilmer, Wed Russell, Waste Costner but I’m with you guys…it sucks to waste Costner but damn Russell had that nailed. Kilmer was fantastic as Doc too. I saw Wyatt Earp once and wasn’t really impressed. Adore Tombstone though…family fave!

Okay, the comment on Costner in NO WAY OUT!!! Love him…And I loved him in Prince of Thieves too. I also adore Kurt Russell. When he went up against Mel Gibson in Tequila Sunrise. And my fave of his, Overboard. Kilmer, he does look hot in that picture but hey! Waste not, want not….(does that even apply here?)
